Tyson named partner of firm’s new data and research vertical: P2 Insights, Romeo to serve as principal specializing in communications and strategy

WASHINGTON, DC (February 27, 2024) – P2 Public Affairs today announced the additions of Ryan Tyson and Andrew Romeo, two top advisors to Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign. Tyson will lead P2 Insights, the firm’s new research vertical that will provide clients with an all-around approach to data collection. Romeo will advise clients on all facets of communications and strategy as P2 continues to expand its efforts to provide first-class public affairs management services to a growing list of clients from across the country.

    Ryan Tyson

Most recently serving as pollster and a senior advisor to Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, Ryan began building his research apparatus over ten years ago and has brought unrivaled insight to Florida politics ever since. His long history in Florida politics includes serving in advisory capacities with Marco Rubio in 2016 and 2022, as well as senior advisor to the Trump campaign in Florida in 2020 and on DeSantis’ re-elect in 2022.

The accuracy of Ryan’s polling operation and the depth of his strategic input turned swing state underdogs into red state winners, and those victories inspired him to expand beyond Florida and form the Tyson Group. The Tyson Group is now a robust national consulting firm with experience across the country, but holds true to its boutique origins and embodies the same hands-on approach to political research that made it successful six years ago.

With the Tyson Group’s help, P2 Insights will become the premier research body in public affairs and provide clients with an all-around approach to data collection. All of P2 Insights’ research will be backed by a rich and extensive voter file, maintained and updated throughout the year by our team. P2 Insights will provide its clients a unique perspective and a full understanding of the atmospherics that shape political thought and motivate social behavior.

    Andrew Romeo

A seasoned communications professional who relishes a tough fight, Andrew Romeo has nearly a decade of experience navigating high-stakes political and issue campaigns.

Prior to that, he ran communications for the Republican State Leadership Committee and State Government Leadership Foundation in the 2021-2022 cycle. Andrew headed the RSLC’s television advertising in Virginia in 2021 when Republicans flipped the House of Delegates and lieutenant governor’s office.

In 2020, Andrew served as North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis’ communications director on his successful re-election campaign, which was the then-most expensive U.S. Senate race in history. He has advised Senators, Congressmen, and state elected officials up and down the ballot on communications. Andrew holds a BA from Colgate University and resides in Arlington, Virginia.
